EVENT : THE PEARL OF THE INDIAN OCEAN – MAURITIUS, AND THE UNPARALLELED CONTRIBUTION OF SWAMI KRISHNANAND SARASWATI IN ITS EMINENCE – HINGLAJ DAN RATNOO

The distant land of South Africa, considered as part of Greater India, is a fertile and green country that is often said to be the land imagined by God even before heaven – that country is Mauritius. Today, the premises of the World Hindi Secretariat in the city of Moka, Mauritius, seemed overwhelmed with the fragrance of literature in the program “The Literary Fragrance of Mauritius”, blessed by the divine presence of scholars, litterateurs, and poets from India and abroad.

In this international event, the specially invited Mr.Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Assistant Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Rajasthan, said in his impactful address:

“India is the garland of  the pearl of the Indian Ocean,  Mauritius. In this recognition, Swami Krishnanand Saraswati made an unparalleled contribution.”

In this prestigious ceremony, dignitaries present included representatives from the World Hindi Secretariat, the Indian High Commission in MauritiusICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), the Indian Diaspora, and officials of GOPIO, along with eminent Hindi scholars, poets, writers, and intellectuals from Mauritius, India, South Africa, Fiji, and Surinam.

Presiding over the stage were Dr. Madhuri Ramdhari, Secretary-General of the World Hindi Secretariat, Shubhankar Mishra (Deputy Secretary-General), Sunita Pahuja, and Niranjan Bign. Among the prominent litterateurs and poets were Dr. Alka Dhanpat, Anju Dharbharan, Dhanraj Shambhu, Keval Naik, Vidwanti Shambhu, Shravani Bihari, Savita Tiwari, Manita Nepol, Shashi Dukan, and others.

It is notable that Shri Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo is presently in Mauritius on a ten-day visit, invited by the Swami Krishnanand Seva Ashram, Mauritius. During this time, he met several eminent personalities of Mauritius, including Shri Vijay Madhu, Shri Ashok Bihari, Shri PremchandBujhawan Munshi, Smt. Priyamvada Bujhawan, Shri Vikramaditya Madhu, Shri Narendra Jain, former Ambassador of Mauritius to India Shri HeyandayalDillum and Smt. Bharti Dillum, Shri Atmaram Bijodhar, Shri Vinay Dashoi, Shri Vishnu Gope & Smt. Mala Gope, Shri Vijay Jaiswal, and many other distinguished figures from various fields.

It should also be remembered that Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo is the grandson of the national saint of Mauritius, Swami Krishnanand Saraswati.

During this visit, Shri Ratnoo also appeared in a live telecast on the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation program “Sahitya Sugandh” and will participate in another radio program “Prakash”.

He has been invited as a distinguished guest for the Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Swami Krishnanand Birth Anniversary Celebrations on August 22, where the stage will be graced by the Mauritius Minister of Health and wellness , Shri Anil Kumar Bhachoo, and the Minister of Agro-Industry & Food Security, Shri Arvin Boolell.
