KOLKATA, 22 December 2024:
Director of the Tourism Authority in Fayyoum Mo’taz Ahmed said Monday that choosing Fayyoum among the best seven tourist destinations in the world is in recognition of its travel, environmental and natural potentials.
Known for its rare national parks, such as Wadi El-Rayan and the Whale Valley, as well as Madinet Madi archaeological site, the Obelisk of Senusret, the ruins of Karanis and the Pyramid of Hawara, Fayyoum has it all, Ahmed said, adding that’s why Lonely Planet platform named the Upper Egyptian city as one of the seven bests.
He also talked about Tunis Village, which he called an architectural masterpiece on the land of Fayyoum.
According to Ahmed, the only problem facing Fayyoum is the accommodation rate, noting that Fayyoum has only 850 hotel rooms.
