Ladpura Khas village in the state of Madhya Pradesh is selected as the Best Tourism village category by United Nation World Tourism Organization on September 2021. The charming village of Ladpura Khas is barely 30 minutes’ drive from the heritage tourism site at Orchha in Madhya Pradesh. With active encouragement and support from MP Tourism Board, a few women of local farming families have set up homestays.
The rooms are large with comfortable beds and en-suite western toilets. Hosts go above and beyond to ensure their mostly urban guests have a happy time exploring life in the countryside. Any effort at promoting women’s empowerment has my heart. This sort of rural entrepreneurship not just benefits the women, though. It helps income generation of the entire community.
One of the most Spiritual destinations of  of the heart of Incredible India, Madhya Pradesh , Orchha has a majestic village called Ladpura Khas where travellers can find royal homestays and enjoy other destinations like the Orchha bird sanctuary, sunset points of Orchha and blend in the culture with their drama and musical performances. You can also enjoy activities like pottery and other rural arts.
Ladpura Khas is full of natural scenic beauty with the presence of hills, forest and river within the vicinity make village the perfect destination to relax and enjoy nature. The cultural diversity within the community, the traditional values and beliefs of the Bundelkhand region with the traditional rural life makes the community more diverse and attracts more tourists to the place. The beautiful village is situated along the banks of Betwa and Gurari River. The Hanumana temple near by the village has special importance in their lives. The village is just 7 kms from Orchha and 20 kms from Jhansi which makes it a tourist circuit within Gwalior, Jhansi and Orchha. The village has its unique history which is narrated by community people.
The village has the motto ‘farm to plate’. The guest will get the farm fresh produce and can enhance their knowledge related to agriculture. The historical & cultural importance of the place is now revived by the community, through the celebration of different festivals on large scale, the lath maar holi is a hype festival celebrated there. The activities like pre wedding photo-shoots, cooking the local food, live demonstration of art& craft, music & dance, agriculture and livestock activities and give knowledge about the plants as well.
The homestay in the village are made of using local material which helps to keep rooms protected from the heat. The local excursion is provided through nature walks, cycle rides and e-rickshaws which are promoted by the community for the tourist to experience rural tourism.
Orchha, the historical city offers various places to visit like Ram Raja Mandir, Chatur Bhuj Mandir, light & sound show and river rafting.
