Mr. Robert Romawia Royte, the Minister for Tourism of Mizoram spoke about the need to have integrated development in tourism to address environmental issues and social responsibility during his address before the participants of 24th Convention of the Tour Guides Federation of India in Aizawl today.
Smt. Manisha Saxena, Director General of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India while addressing the 24th Convention of Tour Guides Federation of India has expressed her appreciation of Mizoram Tourism for moving towards responsible and sustainable tourism.
The 24th Annual National Convention of Tour Guides’ Federation of India was held at Dawpui Multipurpose Hall in Aizawl, Mizoram on 26th May 2023. Mr. Robert Romawia Royte, the Minister for Tourism (i/c) graced the event as Chief Guest and Smt. Manisha Saxena, IAS, Director General of union Ministry of Tourism was the Guest of Honour. The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Tourism and its regional offices, State Tourism Department officials , tourism stakeholders from Mizoram and more than 135 members of TGFI from all over India.
Speaking on the occasion, the tourism minister said that Mizoram with its exotic landscapes abounding with wide varieties of flora and fauna could become eco- adventure tourism hub of the country and that its ideal climatic condition makes it an all year round destination.
Smt. Manisha Saxena, Director General Ministry of Tourism applauded the efforts put forth by the State Government for promotion of tourism and the fact that she has witnessed massive growths in the recent years.
Mr. V. Lalengmawia, Joint Secretary of Mizoram Tourism gave a presentation on Business Promotional Activities in the tourism sector.
Panel Discussion on Challenges faced by Tourist Guides in the post pandemic has been Moderated by Shri Anil Oraw, Regional Director, India Tourism, Guwahati.
In House Discussion on Challenges faced by Tourist Guides in the Post Pandemic was held in the afternoon chaired by Director General, Ministry Of Tourism.
Various stalls have also been set up at the venue. The day ended with Cultural Programme in the evening followed by dinner.
Mr. Robert Romawia Royte, the Minister for Tourism had a meeting yesterday on issues relating to tourism with Smt. Manisha Saxena , Director General of Ministry of Tourism.. Regional Director, India Tourism Guwahati and NHIDCL and other State officials also attended the meeting.
