RAILWAY : PANAGARH STATION UNDER ASANSOL DIVISION OF EASTERN RAILWAY UPGRADED UNDER THE AMRIT STATION SCHEME

Panagarh Railway Station, a vital hub under the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway, has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a world-class station under the ambitious Amrit Station Scheme. This visionary initiative, launched to modernize and upgrade railway infrastructure across the nation, has redefined the travel experience for passengers at Panagarh.

From seamless connectivity to passenger-centric infrastructure, Panagarh Railway Station has been meticulously revamped to cater to the growing needs of commuters while upholding the rich heritage of Indian Railways. The station, operational in its new avatar since January 6, 2025, now boasts state-of-the-art facilities, improved aesthetics, and enhanced amenities, aligning with global standards of transportation hubs.

The upgrades include modernized platforms, energy-efficient lighting, advanced ticketing systems, expanded waiting areas, and improved accessibility features for differently-abled passengers. The station’s transformation is a testament to the government’s commitment to creating a world-class railway network, fulfilling a dream cherished by millions of Indians.

With this significant milestone, Panagarh has not only elevated the travel experience for its passengers but also reinforced its role as a key node in the region’s economic and social development.

Key Upgrades at Panagarh Station:

1. New Booking Complex: Construction of a modern booking complex on the south side (second entry) with dedicated access and a counter for Divyangjan passengers.
2. Waiting Hall with Attached Toilets: Provision of a comfortable waiting hall equipped with attached toilets, including facilities for Divyangjan.
3. Integrated Passenger Information System: Installation of Train Information Boards (TIB), Coach Indication Boards (CIB) on platforms, At-a-Glance Display Boards (AGDB) on foot overbridges, and Multi Line Display Boards (MLDB) in the new building.
4. Platform Refurbishment and Shelters: Renovation of platforms 1 and 2, including the addition of two new platform sheds.
5. Standard LED Signages: Installation of energy-efficient LED signages as per Railway Board guidelines for improved visibility and aesthetics.
6. Circulating Area Development : Expansion of the Circulating Area with dedicated parking spaces for two and three wheelers which will promote segregation , decongestion and smooth vehicular movement.

These upgrades have been meticulously planned and executed to cater to the growing needs of passengers while enhancing operational efficiency at Panagarh station. Eastern Railway remains steadfast in its commitment to providing world-class facilities and services under the Amrit Station Scheme.
