(“Queens on the Wheel” – 2.0 Women Biking Event Successfully Concludes )

BHOPAL, 10 MARCH 2025:
The second edition of the women’s biking event “Queens on the Wheel”, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, concluded on Monday, 10th March 2025, at Kerwa Resort, Bhopal, a unit of the Tourism Corporation. The objective of this biking tour was to promote adventure tourism in the state, showcase tourist destinations, wildlife, natural and historical sites, art, culture, and heritage at the national level, and establish Madhya Pradesh as a safe state for women.
More than 25 women bikers from across the country and the state participated in this tour, covering a distance of 1400 kilometers while visiting various tourist destinations including Sanchi, Chanderi, Gwalior, Mitawali, Padavali, Datia, Orchha, Khajuraho, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Udayagiri, Bhojpur and Bhimbetka.
Additional Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee said, “The objective of this campaign was not only to promote Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and historical sites but also to establish the state as a safe tourism destination for women.”
The women bikers explored the historic cities of Gwalior, Mitawali, Padavali, Bateshwar and Datia. They also experienced the UNESCO World Heritage Site Khajuraho, attending the Light & Sound Show and visiting the Adivarat State Museum. Additionally, they explored the World Heritage Site Sanchi Stupa, the Udayagiri Caves and Pranpur Village near Chanderi, which has been developed as India’s first Craft Handloom Tourism Village and home to the Handloom Cafe.
This event provided women with an opportunity to visit various tourist destinations, showcase the beauty of Madhya Pradesh’s attractions, and promote the message of safety for women.
