Each poem in this debut collections creates its own reality, clarifying a memory or a relationship. The compilation of poetries presenting them either as they were truly were or as idealized fantasies. Not only Moomal’s unconventionality and honesty make every poem a surprise. It’s also a treat for those of us in Rajasthan to hear the distinctive voice of a poet from Kashi. ‘From Sand To Shore’ is a joyful reading experience. It’s obvious by its exuberant tone that Moomal loved creating it. This book is dazzling, lyrical, surreal and fitting legacy for Gen-x. These poems feel necessary, as all truths are necessary. More than that, they are also beautiful in the manner that only art can be. She pens with a light but sharp touch about a number of subjects, including relationships, history, and the cosmos, but her major theme is visible manifestations of God to human beings. Above all she seems to be neither a thoroughgoing skeptic nor a true believer, and in poem after poem, she refuses easy answers.
