The overseas Indian nation of Mauritius — often called “Greater India,” where 68% of the population is of Indian origin and whose freedom movement saw the remarkable contribution of Indian saint Swami Krishnanand Saraswati — is home to a prominent Hindi literary figure, Dr. Alka Dhanpat. She is currently visiting India, the land of her ancestors.
Dr. Alka Dhanpat will be in Kolkata from November 14 to 16, during which she will be felicitated for her literary contributions.

Sharing this information, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Assistant Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan Information Centre, Kolkata, informed that the felicitation ceremony will be held on November 15 at the Rajasthan Information Centre Auditorium. The event is being organized jointly by the Rajasthan Foundation, Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal, and the Rajasthan Information Centre.
Dr. Alka Dhanpat herself will be the Chief Guest of the program, which will be chaired by Mr. Ratan Shah, President of the Rajasthani Pracharini Sabha. Distinguished guests on the dais will include Mr. Santosh Rajpurohit, Chairman of the Rajasthan Foundation Kolkata Chapter, Mr. Ashok Kumar Verma, Joint General Manager, Airport Authority of India (Kolkata), and Dr. Sudha Malhotra, former Professor at Kurukshetra University.
In the second session of the event, the “Ahimsa Award” of this year will be ceremoniously presented by Dr. Alka Dhanpat to eminent social worker and philanthropist Seth Bhikhamchand Pugliya, on behalf of Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal.
Ms. Anju Sethia, founder member of Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal Kolkata and a noted social worker, will serve as the event’s host and will also be present on stage.

Dr. Alka Dhanpat will be honored with a shawl, felicitation letter, ceremonial attire, coconut, garland, memento, and souvenir as a mark of respect.
This grand ceremony will be attended by eminent writers, poets, industrialists, social workers, cultural figures, and prominent media personalities from across Kolkata.
