The World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius, has invited Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, a resident of Bikaner, Rajasthan, to the World Hindi Day celebrations to be held on 9 and 10 January 2026 in the city of Phoenix, Mauritius. Representatives from eleven countries, including Mauritius, will participate in this International Hindi Day Conference.
Sharing detailed information, Dr. Madhuri Ramdhari, Secretary-General of the World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius, said that this joint international event is being organized by the Indian High Commission in Mauritius and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Mauritius, with the purpose of promoting the Hindi language globally.
During this World Hindi Day celebration, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo will deliver an address and present a paper on the topic “Innovations and Possibilities in Hindi Teaching.”

The two-day conference will be inaugurated on 9 January 2026 by the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Dharmveer Gokhool. The welcome address will be delivered by Dr. Madhuri Ramdhari, while the keynote address will be given by Dr. Paramatkhame Ik, Associate Professor at Silpakorn University, Thailand. An international Hindi poetry conference will also be organized on the first day.
On the second day, 10 January 2026, at the auditorium of the World Hindi Secretariat, Phoenix (Mauritius), Shri Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo will deliver a lecture and present his paper on “Innovations and Possibilities in Hindi Teaching.” The chief guest for this session will be Mr. Mahend Gangu Prasad, Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of Mauritius, and the session will be presided over by His Excellency Mr. Anurag Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Mauritius. The vote of thanks on both days will be delivered by Dr. Shubhankar Mishra, Deputy Secretary-General of the World Hindi Secretariat, Mauritius.
On 10 January, local and international Hindi scholars and participants from various countries will be felicitated, and a cultural program will be presented by artists of the ICCR.
Hindi experts from ten countries—including Mauritius, India, Thailand, Fiji, Suriname, Trinidad, Nepal, Bhutan, and the United States—will participate in this World Hindi Day event. Dr. Madhuri Ramdhari further informed that extensive preparations are being made to ensure that the event is conducted in a dignified and grand manner.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo has previously visited Mauritius ten times to participate in various festivals and events, and this will be his eleventh visit. While serving as the Officer-in-Charge at the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and as Assistant Director in the Department of Information and Public Relations, he has represented India in cultural, literary, and other international programs across twenty countries through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India.
