An important meeting was held today under the chairpersonship of Ms. Mona Sen, Chairperson (with the rank of State Minister) of the Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation. The main objective of the meeting was to provide detailed information about various provisions of the State’s Film Policy and to establish dialogue with stakeholders associated with the film industry.
During the meeting, comprehensive information was shared about the subsidy schemes available across all categories, including Hindi films, regional language films, and OTT films. Detailed insights were also provided regarding subsidies for the construction of cinema halls, grants for the purchase of film shooting equipment, and financial assistance available for the renovation of cinema halls.
Director of the Culture Department, Mr. Vivek Acharya, discussed in detail the process for obtaining subsidies, eligibility criteria, application timelines, and required formalities. He clarified how and under what conditions the concerned beneficiaries would be provided with these benefits.
Producers and filmmakers present at the meeting apprised the officials of the practical challenges being faced in the field. Meaningful discussions were held to address these issues. All participants described the meeting as positive and useful, stating that for the first time such a detailed and transparent discussion on the Film Policy had been organized. They expressed the view that this initiative would provide significant benefits to filmmakers, producers, and artists in the future.
Director of the Culture Department and Managing Director of the Tourism Board, Mr. Vivek Acharya, also shared information about the Film City being developed in Chhattisgarh and stated that the state holds immense potential in the field of film tourism. He expressed confidence that in the future, Chhattisgarh will emerge as a major hub for film production and film tourism.
