The Government of India has appointed Bhuvnesh Kumar, an IAS officer of the 1995 batch as the new union Tourism Secretary. He was earlier posted as CEO UIADI , of Ministry of Electronics and IT.
The current union Tourism secretary, Srivatsa Krishna, an IAS officer of 1994 batch and a Karnataka cadre civil servant has been transferred to the department of minority affairs as Secretary.
Mr. Bhuvnesh Kumar was a graduate and gold medalist of National Institute of Technology (NIT) , Kurukshetra. In the past he has hold several important positions in both state and central levels.
Now he will play a crucial role in formulating the tourism policy of the country, focus on spiritual tourism, eco tourism, sustainability, MICE, Wedding and Medical Tourism, Cruise and Light House Tourism, adventure tourism etc .
The Vision of Incedible India’s Tourism Policy is being formulated by PM Narendra Modi and is being implemented by union tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
