Ilisher Harano Pata: The Lost Recipes of Bengal, a special monsoon culinary pop-up at YAYAvar, Hyatt Centric Ballygunge Kolkata, taking place from 10th to 12th July 2026.

Curated by Chef Samita Halder, the experience celebrates a side of Ilish that has quietly faded from memory, bringing back heirloom recipes that have long survived through family kitchens, oral traditions, and generations of home cooks. From Kumro Patai Bhapa Ilish and Manikganj er Til Narkel Ilish to Barishal er Ilish Sada Pulao, Mocha-Kola Ilish er Jhol, Tetul er Ilish Tok, and Ilish Biryani, the specially curated menu revives rare regional preparations seldom found on restaurant menus today.

More than a seasonal Ilish festival, Ilisher Harano Pata is a nostalgic culinary journey that celebrates Bengal’s rich gastronomic heritage through stories, memory, and flavour. The pop-up offers guests an opportunity to rediscover forgotten monsoon recipes while experiencing the enduring legacy of Bengal’s home kitchens in a contemporary setting.
