This August, the vibrant spirit of Thailand arrives in the City of Joy.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata, in partnership with the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Kolkata, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and CPF India, proudly presents ‘Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026: Flavors, Films, Folklores & Friendships’—a unique celebration that invites Indian audiences to experience the very best of Thailand through its cuisine, culture, cinema and warm hospitality.
The celebration begins on 6 August 2026 with an Exclusive Thai Food Festival 2026 at the IIHM Global Campus, Kolkata, where distinguished guests from the diplomatic corps, government, business, academia, media and tourism sectors will enjoy an immersive evening showcasing Thailand’s rich culinary heritage and vibrant cultural traditions.
A Feast of Authentic Thai Flavours:
Renowned worldwide for its perfect harmony of sweet, sour, salty and spicy flavours, Thai cuisine is a true expression of the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage, reflecting generations of culinary wisdom, artistry and hospitality. Guests will be treated to a Live Thai Cooking Demonstration by Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, followed by an Authentic Thai Dinner prepared by Chef Samrong, the Consul-General’s Chef, together with the Master Chefs and talented students of IIHM, symbolising the growing partnership between Thailand and India in culinary excellence, hospitality education and cultural exchange. Adding to the evening’s magic, acclaimed artists from Thailand will present captivating performances of traditional dance, music and folklore, bringing the beauty, grace and spirit of Thai culture vividly to life.
The Journey Continues at the Thai Film Festival in Kolkata 2026:
The festivities continue from 7–9 August 2026 with the 2nd Thai Film Festival at Cinépolis, Acropolis Mall, featuring seven complimentary screenings under the theme “A Cinematic Journey Through Time & Scenery.” From breathtaking landscapes and rich history to contemporary life and heartfelt stories, the festival offers audiences a unique opportunity to discover Thailand through the universal language of cinema.
Together, the Thai Food Festival and the Thai Film Festival present two unforgettable windows into Thailand—one through its world-famous flavours and the other through its inspiring stories on screen. More than a cultural celebration, Amazing Thailand in Kolkata 2026 reflects the enduring friendship between Thailand and India, fostering deeper people-to-people ties while promoting tourism, cultural exchange, hospitality and educational cooperation.
