MUMBAI | 8 OCTOBER 2026
The sustained increase in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, driven by continuing geopolitical developments in the Middle East has led Akasa Air to introduce a fuel surcharge on domestic routes and revise the existing fuel surcharge on international routes.
The revised fuel surcharge will be applicable to all new bookings made with effect from 00:01 hrs on October 9, 2026 onwards.
ATF constitutes a significant component of airline operating costs, and the continued increase in fuel prices has placed sustained pressure on airline operating costs across the industry. In view of the prevailing fuel price environment, Akasa Air has taken a measured approach to partially offset the impact.
Fuel surcharge on domestic routes:
| Sector length | Fuel surcharge (INR) |
| 0–500 km | 375 |
| 501–1,000 km | 600 |
| 1,001–1,500 km | 900 |
| 1,501 km and above | 1,150 |
Fuel surcharge on international routes:
| Routes | Fuel surcharge (INR) |
| India–Kuwait | 2,500 |
| India–Qatar | 2,500 |
| India–Saudi Arabia | 2,500 |
| India–UAE | 2,500 |
| India–Thailand | 2,500 |
| India–Vietnam | 2,500 |
Akasa Air will continue to closely monitor fuel prices and the broader operating environment and review the fuel surcharge periodically.
