To enhance air connectivity in the state and provide tourists with swift, seamless, and safe travel options, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the “PM Shri Heli Tourism Service” from Bhopal on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh’s 70th Foundation Day. This service marks the beginning of a new era of aerial tourism in the state. Ensuring fast and convenient air connectivity across major spiritual, eco-tourism, and wildlife destinations, regular operations will commence from 20 November. With this new facility, tourists will be able to reach more destinations in less time, giving a significant boost to the state’s tourism potential. A key highlight of the service is that the journey between Ujjain and Omkareshwar Jyotirlingas will now take only 20–40 minutes, while travel from Bhopal to Pachmarhi will be completed in just one hour. Tourism, Culture & Religious Trusts & Endowments Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service is an important step toward tourism development in Madhya Pradesh. The objective of this initiative is to provide fast and seamless aerial connectivity to major spiritual, natural, wildlife, and wellness-based destinations. In view of the growing tourism potential in the state, this service will not only save travellers’ time but also ensure a safer, more convenient, and affordable travel experience. The initiative will pave the way for new investments, more employment, and expansion of tourism services, strengthening the state’s economy and tourism capacity.
Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture, Home, and Religious Trusts & Endowments, and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said that the PM Shri Heli Tourism Service is an innovative effort to connect Madhya Pradesh’s major spiritual, wildlife, historical, cultural, and natural destinations through an integrated aerial network. With reduced travel time and affordable fares, this service will significantly enhance the travel experience. The initiative will promote high-value tourism, adventure tourism, and spiritual tourism, ensuring substantial growth in both domestic and international tourist numbers.

Spiritual Sector: Quick and Affordable Darshan of Ujjain–Omkareshwar
Under the spiritual sector, the Indore–Ujjain–Omkareshwar route has been introduced. The estimated fare for the 20-minute Indore–Ujjain flight is ₹5,000, the 40-minute Ujjain–Omkareshwar flight ₹6,500, and the return fare from Omkareshwar to Indore is approximately ₹5,500. Through this sector, devotees can comfortably visit both Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar Jyotirlingas in a single day.
Eco-Tourism Sector: Fast, Smooth, and Affordable Connectivity from Bhopal to Madhai and Pachmarhi
In the eco-tourism sector, the estimated fare for the 40-minute Bhopal–Madhai flight is ₹4,000 and for the 20-minute Madhai–Pachmarhi flight is ₹3,000. Additionally, a direct one-hour Bhopal–Pachmarhi flight will also be available at a fare of ₹5,000 per passenger. Joy rides will also be offered in Pachmarhi, making nature-based experiences even more attractive.
Wildlife Sector: Faster Air Access to Jabalpur, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, and Major Destinations
In the wildlife sector, Jabalpur has been connected to Kanha and Bandhavgarh. Fares include ₹5,000 for Jabalpur–Maihar, ₹2,500 for Maihar–Chitrakoot, ₹6,250 for Jabalpur–Kanha, ₹3,750 for Jabalpur–Bandhavgarh, and ₹5,000 for the one-hour flight to Amarkantak. This enhanced connectivity will allow tourists to explore more destinations in significantly less time.
Heritage Sector: Easy Connectivity Between Satna and Rewa
Through the previously operational PM Shri Vayu Paryatan Seva, air connectivity between Bhopal and Satna, Rewa, Singrauli, and Khajuraho has become even faster, smoother, and more convenient. With affordable fares and regular flights, this air service is giving momentum to regional tourism while strengthening the local economy, employment, and cultural activities.
