AVIATION : GO FIRST EXTENDS FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS TILL 28 MAY, DGCA GIVES 30 DAYS DEADLINE TO SUBMIT REVIVAL PLAN

The regulator of  country’s civil aviation sector, Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has set a deadline of 30 days for crisis hit Go First  to submit a comprehensive revival and restructuring plan, amidst the announcement of  extension of flight cancellations till 28 May 2023.

Budget carrier Go First, earlier known as GoAir first cancelled flights on 3 May, which was slowly extended till 26 May. Today Go First has further extended flight cancellations till 28 May leading to huge harrashments of the air passengers and the travel agents.

Aviation sector watch dog ,DGCA will also conduct an audit of Go First’s preparedness including financial health, aircrafts, pilots etc  before flight operations resume.

Go First is hopeful that very soon flight operations will resume.

Since April salaries have stopped. Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has already said that the union government is providing all help to Go First.

Go First is the aviation foray of the Wadia Group.  They  had  a fleet of 54 aircraft and fly to 28 domestic and 10 international destinations with over 220 daily flights.
