KOLKATA, 4 JANUARY 2024:
IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced the removal of fuel charge applicable on its on domestic and international routes, effective January 04, 2024. The fuel charge had been introduced in October 2023, following a surge in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices. With recent reduction in ATF prices, IndiGo is withdrawing the charge.
“As ATF prices are dynamic, we will continue to adjust our fares and components thereof, to respond to any change in prices or market conditions. IndiGo remains committed to its promise of providing of affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel for our customers,” the company said in a release.
Talking to The Travel And Tourism Times, Mr. Anil Punjabi, national executive committee member of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) said that it is a great news in the holiday season that Indigo has reduced its fare prices up to Rs.1000 from today due to drop in aviation fuel prices.
“ We welcome this decesion of Indigo and hope that it will give further relief to the passengers who will be travelling with this airlines in this long winter holiday season<’ Mr. Anil Punjabi added.
