AngsanaVelavaru has announced that its General Manager, Ahmed Zahir, has been named South Asia’s Best General Manager at the prestigious South Asian Travel Awards (SATA). This accolade reflects Zahir’s extraordinary leadership, vision, and decades of dedication to the hospitality industry.
With over 30 years of service within the Banyan Group, Zahir holds the distinction of being the first Maldivian appointed as General Manager in the company’s Maldives portfolio. His tenure at AngsanaVelavaru has been marked by transformative growth, record-breaking performance, and an unwavering focus on excellence. Under his stewardship, the resort has achieved its highest revenue and Gross Operating Profit, while also ensuring that his team secured maximum incentives—an achievement that highlights his strategic foresight and inclusive leadership style.
