Madhya Pradesh has been honoured with the prestigious “Best State Tourism” Award at SATTE 2026, South Asia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition. Marking the second consecutive year of this recognition, the award further strengthens the state’s standing as one of India’s most prominent and preferred travel destinations. The award was presented during the SATTE Awards ceremony held in New Delhi and was received by Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, Additional Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. The winners were selected by a distinguished panel of experts and eminent industry leaders.

Dr. Ilaiyaraaja T., Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Tourism Department and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, stated, “Receiving the Best State Tourism Award for the second consecutive year at SATTE 2026 is a testament to our sustained efforts in strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s tourism ecosystem. Our focus remains on preserving our rich cultural and natural heritage while promoting sustainable, responsible and experience-driven tourism. Continuous improvements in infrastructure, connectivity, visitor facilities and innovative tourism initiatives have positioned Madhya Pradesh as a leading destination for heritage, wildlife, spiritual and eco-tourism.”
Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board continues to present the state in its complete diversity from the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Khajuraho, Sanchi and Bhimbetka to its celebrated tiger reserves, sacred spiritual centres such as Ujjain and Omkareshwar, vibrant tribal and folk traditions, rural tourism experiences, adventure circuits and emerging experiential destinations.
With a strong focus on sustainable development, community participation and enhanced visitor engagement, the state is steadily evolving into a destination that offers depth, authenticity and year-round appeal to travellers from across India and the world.
The recognition at SATTE 2026 reaffirms Madhya Pradesh’s success in attracting domestic as well as international travellers and underscores its commitment to positioning the state as a premier tourism destination in India.
