AWARD:THE SHINING STAR OF MAURITIUS, THE PEARL OF THE INDIAN OCEAN, DISCIPLE OF SWAMI KRISHNANAND JI ,BIJAYE MADHOU HONOURED WITH NATIONAL AWARD 2025

Bijaye Madhou, a disciple of Swami Krishnanand Ji, has been conferred with a National Award by the Government of Mauritius. Mauritius, often referred to as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, is a beautiful, serene, and prosperous country located in the midst of the Indian Ocean near South Africa. Mr. Bijaye Madhou, a proud son of Mauritius, is among the first forty disciples of the revered national saint of Mauritius, the late Swami Krishnanand Saraswati Ji, who was adorned with countless honours.

Mr. DharambeerGokhol, President of Republic of Maurituis had handed over the National Awards 2025 to Mr. BijayecoomarMadhou at a function held at State House in Le Reduiot on July this year.

Sharing this news, the grandson of Swami Krishnanand Ji and Assistant Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Rajasthan Information Centre, Kolkata, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo  said that this honour has brought immense joy and pride not only to the Indian diaspora in Mauritius but also to all of us in India.

It is noteworthy that Mr.BijayeMadhou has been a beloved disciple of Swami Krishnanand Saraswati Ji and continues to make remarkable contributions in selfless service even today. Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes are extended to him on this recognition, said the grandson of Swami Krishnanand Ji.

Eighty-two-year-old Mr. BijayeMadhouis not only a treasure of Mauritius but also a guardian heritage for all of us,” added Mr. Ratnoo. Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo  has expressed gratitude to the Government of Mauritius for bestowing this honour.

ABOUT BijayeMadhou:

From 1962 , he was a member of the Northern Clubs Association, the federation of youth associations living in the north. He became its President. He also joined  the Young Farmers Club. Contact was established with SSR, then the Primiere and MP for Pamplemousses – Triolet. In 1995, he was Director  General of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. He left the station to return in 2006. BijayeMadhou was subsequently  appointed as Director of Mahatma Gandhi Institute. He remained there until 2015. He is currently responsible for the development of the Anna Medical College Campus in Flacq. He is also involved with the SSR Medical College, “ two projects that are close to my heart.”
