The land of Madhya Pradesh, which holds the pride of witnessing the return of cheetahs after 70 years, is now becoming the stage for a unique celebration of nature, adventure, and culture. Amid the scenic surroundings of Kuno National Park in Sheopur, the second edition of “Kuno Forest Retreat” was grandly inaugurated on 14 November 2025.
Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the “Kuno Forest Retreat” aims to present an extraordinary combination of tourism, wildlife, and culture—creating an unforgettable experience for visitors. This festival will position Kuno, the home of cheetahs, as a major sustainable tourism destination on the global map, while also providing a global platform to local arts, crafts, and cuisine, thereby strengthening the vision of a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.
The prestigious festival, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, was formally inaugurated by Shri Sitaram Adivasi, Chairman of the Sahariya Development Authority (Minister of State rank), by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Kuno to Become a National Eco-Tourism Destination:
Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Home, and Religious Trusts, and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla, described the event as a celebration of the state’s natural heritage, wildlife conservation, and rich cultural traditions.
He said that this festival is not just an event but also a celebration of the globally acclaimed Cheetah Reintroduction Project. “Our objective is to connect tourists with nature, create livelihood opportunities for local communities, and give Madhya Pradesh a new identity on India’s eco-tourism map.”
Unforgettable Experiences in the Lap of Nature:
Organized in collaboration with Evoke Camping, the forest retreat offers visitors a treasure trove of experiences. Twenty-five luxury, all-season glamping tents have been set up amid Kuno’s natural beauty, giving tourists a rare opportunity to stay immersed in nature.
The retreat includes jungle safaris, land and air-based adventure activities, yoga and meditation sessions, village tours, and various wellness programmes.
Cultural Evening Captivates the Audience:
The cultural evening held during the inauguration mesmerized the audience. The traditional Badhai dance brought to life the birth stories of Lord Ram and Krishna, while the famous Naurta dance of Bundelkhand showcased the region’s rich folk traditions.
Along with these performances, the festival also features exhibitions of local handicrafts and tribal art, offering tourists a deeper connection with the culture of Madhya Pradesh. Senior officials of the Tourism Board, Forest Department, and local administration were present at the occasion.
