BREAKING NEWS : ABU DHABI WELCOMES 18 MILLION VISITORS LAST YEAR, ABU DHABI DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE AND TOURISM ANNUAL REPORT 2022 RELEASED

The Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) of Abu Dhabi has just released the compolete annual report 2022 , which states that in the year 2022 about 18 million people have visited the capital of United  Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Department of Culture and Tourism  of Abu Dhabi said that it is a  reflection of DCT’s promise to promote, protect and progress Abu Dhabi as a cultural and tourism destination, the report highlights the organisation’s commitment to delivering on its strategic ambition.

“ In 2022 we celebrated major museum announcements, taking our visitors and residents on a journey  14  billion years into the past for the pop up of the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi, before looking to the future, with a preview of the immersive,multi sensory experience that is team ab Phenomena Abu Dhabi,”added Mr. Moahmmed Al Mubarak.

“About three million people people visited the cultural sites of Abu Dhabi with about 99 percent satsifaction rates. Even the hotels have an ocupancy rate of over 70 percent, said Mr. Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, under secreatry of Abu Dhabi DCT.
The annual report also states that overnight visitors reached 4.1 million , which is a 24 percent increase compared to the previous year (2021).

While more than  1,200 MICE events delivered by ADCEB, serving a total of 603,000 visitors, the report stated.

Even it has recorded that about 2,46,000 students have visited the various cultural sites of Aby Dhabi.

Department of Culture and Tourism has also registered 78 percent destination awareness , which has been cahied across 12 strategic markets.
Even a record 80 galleries from 28 countries featured at Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2022 and the  Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre recorded 260,000 visitors across Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, Al Ain Book Festival, and Al Dhafra Book Festival.

“ In 2022 we harnessed the power of culture, which showed us the pathway to resillence , recovery and revival. It was also a year where we embraced the transformative power of collaboration, bringing a new found sense of energy, partnership and innovation,’ said Mr. Mohammed Al Mubarak.

Abu Dhabi’s growth underscores the Emirate’s vision and its ability to deliver exceptional cultural, tourism and hospitality offerings.
