The Directorate of Toursim, Kashmir will train 25 people to become a professional river guide.
A 15 days Certificate Course in white water river rafting will be organised by the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir in collaboration with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and National Institute of water Sports , Goa.
It has invited appliactions froma maximum 25 persons for this 15 days Certificate Course. The training will be imparted at Wusan, Ganderbal.
To become eligible candidates will have be within the age bracket of 20 to 30 years.
Will have to undergo a 100 metres freestyle swimming in placid water to be completed in three minutes.
Physical Fitness certificate is also required from a registered medical practitioner.

The best places of white water river rafting in Kashmir are Pahalgam, Sonamarag ( Indus River), Kargil, Wusan River, Lider River etc. Kashmir is a popular destination of adventure tourism. From June to September is the best time for river rafting in Kashmir as the water level remains high. River rafting costs between Rs.500 to Rs.1500 per person.
