Continuing the steady flow of international arrivals this tourist season, the first seasonal charter flight from Almaty, Kazakhstan, carrying 174 passengers operated by Fly Arystan, arrived at Manohar International Airport (MOPA) today at 10:25 a.m., further expanding Goa’s international connectivity.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, accorded a warm welcome to the arriving passengers with rose buds and a brass band performance outside the arrival area, offering visitors an introduction to Goa’s hospitality and cultural warmth.
Speaking about the charter arrival, Minister for Tourism, Mr. Rohan Ashok Khaunte, said, “Strengthening international air connectivity remains a key focus area for Goa’s tourism development. By engaging newer source markets and supporting seasonal charter operations, Goa continues to expand its global outreach in a planned and sustainable manner. The commencement of charter services from Almaty this season reflects growing international confidence in Goa as a destination and aligns with our efforts to attract quality visitors while ensuring balanced and inclusive tourism growth across the State.”
Highlighting the operational aspect, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, Mr. Kedar Naik, stated, “The arrival of the first charter flight of the season from Almaty marks an important addition to this season’s international charter operations. Such services contribute to maintaining steady international tourist movement during the season”
The seasonal charter service from Almaty is expected to add further momentum to international tourist arrivals during the ongoing season.
