In presence of the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Chowna Mein, the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) and Arunachal Pradesh Tour Operators Association (APTOA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) to promote this North Eastern State for the Buddhist Pilgrimage Circuit Tours in the country.
Both the two organizations have thanked the forest minister and the tourism secretary of Arunachal Pradesh for their kind support to ink the deal.
Dr. Kaulesh Kumar, Secretary General of ABTO, Mr. Tsering Wange, Coordinator and State Head of ABTO, Mr. Raj Basu, Vice President of ABTO, Mr. Tapan Gab, President of APTOA signed the deal in presence of the deputy CM of Arunachala Pradesh, Mr. Chowna Mein.
Mr Ranphoa Ngowa, IFS, Secretary, Tourism, Political, Border Affairs & DoTCL, Government of Arunachal has said that he will visit soon Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Sarnath, etc for the promotion of Buddhist Tourism Circuits in Arunachal Pradesh.
Padamshri Dr Anshu Gemsenpa ji, Mount Everest winner and others have also supported in finalizing this deal.
Talking to The Travel and Tourism Times, Dr. Kaulseh Kumar, Secretary General of ABTO has said that they will never forget the Arunachal Pradesh Government’s efforts for facilitating the ARUNACHAL SANGEET MAHOTSAV for cultural promotion.
“It’s is great day for ABTO and the APTOA and we hope that both these two organizations will work together to promote Buddhist Pilgrimage Tourism in the only living Buddhist state in the country,”said Dr. Kaulesh Kumar.
It should be noted that Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh in India, is known as the ‘land of enchanting pagodas,’ because of the Golden Pagoda and other pagodas of the area.The World Peace pagoda is located on a river island. Arunachal Pradesh is the main route of living Buddhism in India and the deal is to further boost that Buddhist Tourism Sector.
Both ABTO and APTOA have agreed to share knowledge, experience and expertise for development and promotion of travel and tourism industry.
APTOA and ABTO wish to establish a business relationship to better facilitate communication, networking and linkages between the two organizations and their members for the effective promotion of religious or Buddhist Pilgrimage Travel.
A Joint Action Committee will be formed to discuss strategies to the development and implementation of collaborative programmes and projects for mutual benefits.
ABTO was established in 10 December 2015 in Nalanda of Bihar and has been working for tourism as a platform of tourism with Buddhism with more than 25 countries including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Myanmar and several other countries of Asia Pacific under the motto – ‘One world one tourism, one platform’.
