Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Bhubaneswar office participated in the Konark Festival 2025, which was held from 1st to 5th December 2025 at the spectacular open-air auditorium with the Sun Temple, Konark as its backdrop.

1. Incredible India Information Stall:

A key feature of the Ministry’s participation was the establishment of an “Incredible India Information Stall” at the festival venue.

  • Objective: To serve as a dedicated outreach point for promoting Indian tourism, with a special focus on the diverse offerings of Odisha and the “Incredible India” campaign.
  • Activities: The stall was a hub for tourist engagement, where:

o Tourist Literature and Brochures were distributed widely to both domestic and international visitors. This literature would typically cover information on destinations and various tourism products across India.

o The staff would have provided on-the-spot information, answering queries about travel, accommodation, local attractions, and festival schedules.

o The presence of the stall ensured that the Ministry had a direct interface with tourists, facilitating informed travel decisions and promoting different facets of India’s culture and heritage.

2. ‘Travel for LiFE’ Selfie Point:

In line with the Government of India’s focus on sustainable and responsible tourism, a dedicated ‘Travel for LiFE’ Selfie Point was set up adjacent to the Indiatourism stall.

  • ‘Travel for LiFE’ Initiative: This campaign is an extension of the Prime Minister’s mission ‘LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment), adapted for the tourism sector. Its core aim is to sensitize travelers and the tourism ecosystem to promote Sustainable Tourism practices, urging visitors to act responsibly during their travels.

  • Selfie Point Feature: The selfie point was a creative and interactive installation designed to engage the digital-savvy audience.

o It served as a highly visible, shareable backdrop featuring the ‘Travel for LiFE’ message and branding.

o Tourists were encouraged to click pictures at this spot and share them on social media using relevant hashtags, thereby becoming ambassadors of responsible tourism and amplifying the message of environmental and cultural conservation.

o This interactive approach helped embed the message of mindful travel directly into the festival experience.

The combined efforts of the Information Stall and the ‘Travel for LiFE’ Selfie Point demonstrated the Ministry’s commitment to both promotion (Incredible India) and sustainability (Travel for LiFE) in the cultural tourism sector.
