Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project represents a civilized and modern model that the Egyptian state is working to implement across various development projects.
He emphasized that all BRT buses are electric and locally manufactured in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to localize key industries—including the bus manufacturing sector—as part of a broader strategy to advance Egypt’s industrial capabilities and transform the country into a regional industrial hub.
The premier’s remarks came at the conclusion of his inspection tour, which included a visit to the BRT station located at the intersection of Fayoum Road and Wahat Road, near the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Madbouli was briefed about the project by Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, who explained that the BRT project is one of the main arteries connecting the east and west of the capital, and links to the New Administrative Capital through a single, fast, modern, clean, and safe means of transport. The BRT system is also environmentally friendly and plays a key role in improving traffic flow on the Cairo Ring Road.
El-Wazir said the project encourages and enhances public transportation by attracting new commuters away from private vehicles, noting that these buses offer high-quality service, while also protecting the environment by reducing emissions, as they are entirely electric.
