Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that ‘Queens on the Wheels 3.0’ women’s biking tour is not merely a bike rally but a unique campaign that represents women’s empowerment, courage, and the promotion of Madhya Pradesh’s identity through tourism to the world. Welcoming the sisters who arrived from different parts of the country to the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister said that the state is not only “Ajab and Gajab” but also vigilant about ensuring women’s safety.
He said that this journey of the sisters stands as an example of women’s safety along with the promotion of tourism in the state and reflects the changing face of society. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh is progressing continuously. The country is safe, and so is Madhya Pradesh. As part of the ‘Queens on the Wheels’ programme, which commenced ahead of Women’s Day and Rang Panchami, women bikers from across the country will spread the vibrant colours of Madhya Pradesh tourism. The tour has been organised with the objective of promoting the state’s rich and historic tourist destinations across the country and the world. The Chief Minister said that this journey will prove to be unique, courageous and inspiring for the daughters of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav flagged off the 25 women superbikers participating in ‘Queens on the Wheels’ from the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday, extending his best wishes for the journey and assuring them of all possible support. Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister also posed for a group photograph with the bikers and the Tourism Sakhis.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the tour is being launched as a symbol of the guarantee of women’s safety in Madhya Pradesh. It includes 25 courageous women bikers from various states including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The journey will take place from March 7 to March 13, during which the riders will cover a distance of 1,400 kilometres. During the biking tour, the participants will travel through some of the state’s renowned tourist destinations including Sanchi, Udayagiri, Chanderi, Khajuraho, Kuno National Park, Gwalior, Mitawali and Orchha. The tour will conclude in Bhopal on March 13.
The simplicity of Nimar, the vibrancy of Malwa, the tales of valour of Bundelkhand, the folk traditions of Baghelkhand, the glorious history of Chambal, and the natural beauty of Mahakaushal together form the unique identity of Madhya Pradesh. The state government is committed to promoting a clean natural environment, safe travel experiences and religious tourism in the state. The Chief Minister advised the women riders to pay special attention to safety during the ride and said that the police administration at the district level will coordinate all necessary arrangements, including accommodation and other facilities for the group.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also interacted with the women bikers who had arrived from across the country. Sixty-two-year-old Neeta Khandekar from Mumbai shared that she gave herself the courage to fulfil her dream of riding a bike seven years ago and later completed a memorable journey of 21,000 kilometres in 75 days. Trina from West Bengal said that she travelled to Madhya Pradesh in four days by bike through Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar and felt the safest in Madhya Pradesh. “I am a fan of the roads and nature here,” she said. The Chief Minister also met the Tourism Sakhis.
The women biking tour is being led by 62-year-old Dr. Neeta from Mumbai. The group includes Sara Khan, Rajnandini, Divya Raman, Mayuri Soni, Disha Rakeshiya, Unnati Chaurasia, Sejal Kushwaha and Mehak Batham from Bhopal, and Shabnam Bano from Gwalior. Also participating are Hetal Upadhyay, Madhuri Nayak, Madhu Helchal, Tanu Priya and Riddhi from Mumbai; Sona Priyadarshini from Bengaluru; Sayanti Ghosh from Kolkata; Kalyani Potekar from Pune; Dr. Priyanka Rukmani, Ruchika Meghe, Ekta Khete, Maithili Singh and Pallavi Deshmukh from Nagpur; Dr. Sumit from Noida; and Kavita Jadhav from Sambhaji Nagar (Maharashtra).
Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Neeraj Mandloi, Secretary Tourism Department and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Shri Ilaiyaraaja T, Additional Managing Director Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar and other officials were present on the occasion.
