Work has commenced on the comprehensive development of Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Maa Janaki (Goddess Sita), located in Sitamarhi district, in alignment with the model of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya. For the construction of Maa Janaki Birthplace Pilgrimage Site, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation has released the tender documents.

National and international-level construction agencies have been invited to participate in the tender process. The invitation date for tenders has been set for July 11, and the tender can be uploaded until 3:00 PM on August 7. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 24, and the tender will be opened on August 8. After this, the selection process for the construction agency will be carried out by the competent authority.

The selected construction agency must complete all construction work within a 42-month timeframe.

It is noteworthy that, keeping in view the religious sentiments of devotees and the vast tourism development potential, the existing Punaura Dham is planned to be developed as a key site in the Ramayana Circuit.
