*Mass Yoga Sessions Organized at Tourist Sites across the State
*International Yoga Day Celebrated as ‘Yoga Sangam’ by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department organized mass yoga sessions at the state’s prominent tourist destinations, spreading the message of wellness through yoga. These special sessions were part of the ‘Yoga Sangam’ initiative, aimed at promoting the global importance of yoga and encouraging citizens to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

A large number of public representatives, government officials, school students, and citizens actively participated in the mass yoga practice sessions held across the state’s iconic historical, natural, and cultural landmarks.
Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts & Endowments Department, and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, stated that this year’s theme, as determined by the Government of India, is “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”. “This theme reflects the holistic benefits of yoga and our commitment to global wellness. Through these initiatives, we aim not only to highlight the importance of yoga but also to promote Madhya Pradesh as a leading tourism destination,” he said.
Mass Yoga Sessions were held at the following key destinations:
• Dhar: Mandu
• Gwalior: Gwalior Fort
• Ashoknagar: Chanderi
• Morena: Padavali
• Anuppur: Amarkantak
• Raisen: Bhimbetka and Sanchi
• Bhopal: Kerwa, Wind & Waves, Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center
• Umaria: Bandhavgarh
• Chhatarpur: Khajuraho (Western Group of Temples)
• Niwari: Orchha (Kanchana Ghat)
• Jabalpur: Bhedaghat
• Ujjain: Mahakal Lok
• Indore: Rajwada
• Khandwa: Omkareshwar (Ekatma Dham)
• Narmadapuram: Pachmarhi (Dhoopgarh)

Through ‘Yoga Sangam’, Madhya Pradesh delivered a message that yoga is not just a means of achieving physical and spiritual balance but also a powerful medium for cultural awakening and tourism promotion. Performing yoga at historical, cultural, and natural sites raised awareness about health while enhancing the global identity of these destinations. This event served as a beautiful confluence of yoga and tourism, truly embodying the spirit of ‘One Earth, One Health’ and reinforcing Madhya Pradesh’s image as a holistic and conscious tourism state
