Shantiniketan Society of Youth For Youth Empowerment , an NGO has undertaken an initiative to launch a School of family Business in Shantiniketan ( Shantiniketan School of Family Business – Learning From Mentors).
Robin Ghosh, an Economist and President of the Society says “The focus of this Family Business School to start with is to offer a one-stop window to businesses in West Bengal to access a structured pathway for growth and diversification.”
He further says, “If you want to accelerate start-ups in West Bengal, it is necessary to install an acceleration network offering mentorship, market access, and funding opportunities for growth-stage startups.”
HOW THE SCHOOL OF FAMILY BUSINESS WILL HELP:
1. Spot Business Projects in emerging technologies across multiple sectors.
2. Incubation support.
3. Mentorship
4. Incentives available from Central & State Government.
5. Access to Venture Capital Network.
6. Access to benefits available under State Startup policy like reimbursement for patent cost, marketing cost, GST and Quality certification costs.
7. Help to arrange subsidised incubation costs at Centres of Excellence and Technology Business Incubators.
Essentially, Shantiniketan School of Family Business has been set up to guide traditional Bengali business houses to sense and spot emerging technologies and out-of-box products and services, and help West Bengal to break into India’s top of line Startup Club.
