The Minister of Tourism of Bihar , Mr. Arun Shankar Prasad, along with Tourism Secretary , Mr. Nilesh Ramchandra Devare, Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) , Mr. Nand Kishore, and Tourism Director , Mr. Udayan Mishra, released the New Year diary, wall calendar, and table calendar printed by the Tourism Department.

At the Tourism Minister’s office in the Main Secretariat, the Tourism Minister Arun Shankar Prasad said in his address that Bihar has immense potential for development in the fields ranging from religious tourism to eco-tourism. Continuous efforts are being made to improve infrastructure around tourist destinations. A large number of tourists are continuously visiting Bihar.
Officials of the Tourism Department are working to further improve the facilities available in Bihar so that the state becomes more convenient, safe, and well-equipped for tourists. Bihar has forests, safaris, history, and heritage. It is the birthplace of Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira, and Mother Sita. These days, efforts are being made to strengthen the branding of Bihar’s tourist destinations so that more people become aware of them and visit Bihar for tourism. Work is being done with the vision of increasing the duration of tourists’ stay so that more employment opportunities can be created in the state.

Efforts are also underway to establish Bihar Tourism as a brand at both the national and global levels. Tourism generates a significant amount of permanent and temporary employment, and Bihar Tourism continues to work consistently in this direction. He said that efforts are also being made to ensure that local businesses benefit from tourism. Along with the construction of five-star hotels, focus is also being given to budget hotels so that common people do not face difficulty in getting basic facilities while visiting Bihar’s tourist destinations.
The Minister stated that currently Bihar ranks tenth in the country in terms of tourist numbers, and the Tourism Department is working strategically on how to achieve a better position over the next five years.
