Under the joint auspices of Rajasthan Foundation, Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal, and the Rajasthan Information Centre, a highly dignified felicitation ceremony was successfully organized on Saturday, 15th November at the Rajasthan Information Centre Auditorium in Kolkata.

This special ceremony was dedicated to honoring the remarkable contributions of Mauritius-based eminent Hindi litterateur, multi-dimensional author, and scholar Dr. Alka Dhanpat, along with Kolkata’s renowned industrialist and social worker Shri Bhikhmchand Pugaliya.
Dr. Alka Dhanpat, the chief guest of the event—an eminent Hindi writer and scholar from Mauritius—graced the occasion with her presence. The program was presided over by Shri Ratan Shah, President of the Rajasthani Pranidhari Sabha.

Presence of Distinguished Personalities :
As special guests, the event was attended by Shri Sujit Babu from Rajasthan Foundation and Shri Shivram Jatoliya, Director of Palace on Wheels.
Adding sanctity to the occasion were notable dignitaries including Shri Prahlad Rai Goenka, President of Ganga Mission; Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, Joint General Manager , Airport Authority of India; and Dr. Sandhya Malhotra, Former Professor, Kurukshetra University. Their presence brought intellectual depth to the ceremony.

During the event, all dignitaries on stage collectively released the book “Upahar”, written by Nepalese scholar Dr. Bhawana Parajuli, along with a folder of Palace on Wheels.
Throughout the program, a mesmerizing blend of Rajasthani culture and literature was witnessed, which beautifully brought Rajasthan’s rich heritage alive on Kolkata’s soil. All dignitaries present appreciated this cultural harmony.
Reflections on Literature, History and Social Service:
In her inspiring address, Dr. Alka Dhanpat spoke extensively about the importance of Hindi literature and writing, emphasizing the need to take Hindi to the global stage. She shed light on the history of Mauritius, its culture, and the struggles of people of Indian origin there. She explained how Indian culture has firmly preserved its roots in Mauritius.
Industrialist and social worker Shri Bhikhmchand Pugaliya was honored with the Bhamashah Award for his continuous and dedicated social service. In his address after receiving the honor, Shri Pugaliya expressed his gratitude to everyone. He shared how selfless service has been the guiding principle of his life and how following this very principle has led him to where he is today.

This grand felicitation ceremony began at 3:00 PM at the Rajasthan Information Centre Auditorium, Kolkata, and concluded with many memorable moments.
The entire event was successfully coordinated by Shri Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Assistant Director, Department of Information & Public Relations, Rajasthan Information Centre, Kolkata, and Anju Sethia, Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal, Kolkata.
