The world’s leading travel trade fair ITB Berlin 2026 concluded on Thursday after three days of meetings and discussions among tourism stakeholders from several continents. Rajasthan Tourism used the event to present the state heritage, culture and tourism experiences to the global travel industry. Pavilion 200 recorded steady visitor interest during the fair.

A delegation from Rajasthan Tourism Department attended the event under the leadership of Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riar. Additional Director Pawan Jain and Joint Director Dr Puneeta Singh accompanied the delegation in Berlin and interacted with representatives of the international travel sector.

The Rajasthan pavilion displayed elements inspired by traditional regional architecture. The space introduced visitors to historic forts, palaces, desert landscapes, wildlife destinations and living cultural traditions of the state. Many travel professionals and visitors visited the pavilion to learn about tourism opportunities in Rajasthan.

During the fair Rajasthan Tourism officials held meetings with tour operators, travel agents and tourism companies from Germany and several European countries. The discussions explored business cooperation and travel promotion in the European market.

A roadshow at the Rajasthan stand attracted attention at the pavilion. Around 35 travel bloggers and digital influencers attended the session. The presentation introduced tourism experiences such as heritage circuits, desert safaris, festivals, wildlife tourism and local traditions.

Visitors also participated in a Rajasthan-themed quiz, which added an interactive element to the pavilion. Winners received traditional Rajasthani souvenirs. Guests also sampled Indian snacks that represented regional hospitality.

During meetings with German and European tour operators, Rukmani Riar spoke about architectural similarities between historic forts of Rajasthan and fortifications in parts of Germany. She noted that both regions share a history of defensive structures built on elevated terrain, which indicates similar historical strategies related to settlement and protection.

The Rajasthan pavilion earlier opened in the presence of Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Ajit Vinayak Gupte Ambassador of India to Germany.

Across the three day fair the Rajasthan delegation attended several B2B meetings and networking sessions. Officials presented heritage circuits cultural festivals and experience based tourism options to international travel companies.

Europe continues to remain an important international source market for Rajasthan tourism. Travellers from Germany France and the United Kingdom show continued interest in historic architecture crafts and cultural experiences of the state.

Participation in ITB Berlin is expected to strengthen engagement with travel companies in Europe and support growth in international visitor arrivals in the coming years.
