EVENT : KARTIK PUJA IS A FESTIVAL THAT STRENGTHENS OUR BOND WITH NATURE: PRAHLAD RAI GOENKA

About a hundred kilometers from Kolkata, in the Hooghly district, the 250-year-old Hanseshwari Temple complex in the suburban town of Bansberia was immersed in devotion today, glowing in the vibrant colors of the Kartik Puja festival. Thousands of devotees, men and women, offered prayers to Maa Hanseshwari and then enthusiastically participated in the grand Kartik Puja celebrations held in the large pandal within the temple premises.

The festival was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in a devotional atmosphere by the chief host and chief guest, renowned industrialist and “son of the Ganga,” Seth Prahlad Rai Goenka. In his address, Mr. Goenka extended warm wishes and congratulations to everyone, saying that Kartik Puja gives the eternal message of forming an unbreakable bond with nature.

On this occasion, several dignitaries were present on stage, including Hooghly MLA Mr. Tapan Dasgupta, Assistant Director in the Rajasthan Government’s Information & Public Relations Department Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Consular Mr. Amit Da, Director of Palace on Wheels Mr. Shivram Jatolia, Mrs. Nirmala Goenka, Mr. Gagan Goenka, Mrs. Pooja Goenka, and Seth Prahlad Rai Goenka’s grandchildren Eka Goenka and Gopan Goenka, along with other members of the Goenka family and Sandeep Bajaj.

The town of Bansberia was adorned with magnificent lighting, and every road appeared to be guiding visitors towards the Hanseshwari Temple Kartik Puja festival grounds. All the esteemed guests on stage lit the ceremonial lamp and inaugurated the event amid the sound of conch shells and drums.

Thousands of residents of the suburb expressed joy and delight at the special presence of Seth Prahlad Rai Goenka at the event.

In this ceremony, Dandi Swami, the head (Mathadheesh) of the Gaudiya sect of Triveni, was also gracing the stage.
