Skal International Kolkata in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will be celebrating Songkran festival in Pride Plaza Hotel in New Town- Rajarhat, Kolkata, according to Mr. Amin Ashgar, President Of Skal International Kolkata.
“This auspicious occasion marks the Thai New Year and is celebrated with great enthusiasm, symbolizing renewal and the washing away of past misfortunes. We anticipate an evening filled with traditional Thai cuisine and vibrant festivities at the cultural capital of India, Kolkata,”said Mr.Amin Ashgar.
Mr. Abhijit Sarkar, Secretary of Skal International Kolkata has informed The Travel and Tourism Times that representatives of Royal Thai Consulate General, Kolkata, Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi office and members of Skal International Kolkata have joined hands to make a grand and colorful Songkran Festival this year at Pride Plaza Hotel in Rajarhat, Kolkata.
Songkran, or Thai New Year, is Thailand’s biggest and most important annual festival. It has already bagged the Unesco World Cultural Heritage tag. This year the Songkran Festival will be celebrated from 13 to 15 April.
