Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) will participate in World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, the world’s leading travel and tourism trade event, to be held from 4 to 6 November 2025 at ExCeL London. The event will also mark the launch of the Maldives Destination Guide 2026, the official annual publication that showcases the nation’s finest travel experiences and hospitality offerings.
Recognised as one of the most influential global platforms for the travel industry, WTM London brings together international tourism professionals to network, exchange insights, and shape future trends in leisure travel.
This year, the Maldives will be represented by a strong delegation of 160 industry professionals from 70 companies, reflecting the destination’s continued commitment to maintaining its competitive presence in key markets.
The Maldives stand, spanning 650 square metres, has been designed to highlight the nation’s distinctive geography and world-renowned hospitality. It will include 46 co-exhibitor counters, 55 B2B meeting tables, and three dedicated industry meeting areas, ensuring maximum opportunities for business engagement.
Visit Maldives’ stand will feature two information counters on either side to assist visitors and share destination information. To enhance visitor engagement, the stand will include a dedicated Liverpool FC Fan Zone under the ongoing partnership. Alongside it, an Interactive Zone will showcase a holographic display that visually communicates the destination’s offerings and highlights the Maldives’ vibrant marine life.
“WTM London is a vital platform for us to strengthen the Maldives’ presence in the global market and reaffirm our commitment to partners worldwide,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “This year’s highlight will be the unveiling of our 2026 destination theme, ‘Ocean Nation’, which embodies the Maldives’ deep connection to the sea and our continued journey towards sustainability and innovation.”
The “Ocean Nation” campaign celebrates the Maldives’ bond with the ocean as a source of healing, inspiration, and connection. Centred on wellness, maritime heritage, and sustainable adventure, the theme positions the Maldives as both guardian and beneficiary of its ocean environment, reflecting its evolving identity as a destination of natural beauty and ecological leadership.
To complement its presence at WTM London, Visit Maldives has launched a two-month taxi advertising campaign across central London. Featuring 100 brightly branded taxis, the campaign brings a splash of tropical colour to the city’s autumn chill, contrasting the cool grey streets with the vibrant ocean blues of the Maldives. The initiative is designed to capture attention, evoke wanderlust, and remind travellers that warmth, sunshine, and serenity await in the Maldives.
As of 21 October 2025, the Maldives has recorded 1,763,319 tourist arrivals, underscoring the success of proactive campaigns and strategic collaborations in key markets.
