On the occasion of World Tourism Day, this year’s theme was “Tourism andSustainable Transformation.” Under this theme, a cleanliness drive was organized on Saturday at Sagar Kund, located behind the historic Amer Fort.
As part of the Seva Pakhwada 2025 programs, cleaning and maintenance work was carried out at selected tourist sites under the “Panch Gaurav” initiative.
With the objective of spreading awareness about Jaipur’s heritage and ensuring cleanliness at tourist destinations, the drive at Sagar Kund involved officials and staff from the Tourism Department, RTDC, Archaeology & Museum Department,JaipurHeritage Municipal Corporation, and Forest Department, along with representatives from the travel trade including FHTR, HRAR, RATO, HFR, ADTOI,FRTO, HAJ,Guide Associations, students of IHM Jaipur, and others.
On this occasion, students of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) presented a street play (nukkadnatak) based on the theme of cleanliness.
Notably, on World Tourism Day, the Tourism Department organized several events across Jaipur. At Amer Fort, Nahargarh, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and Albert Hall, tourists were welcomed with the support of travel trade representatives. During the morning hours, local folk artist groups performed captivating presentations such as Kalbeliya dance, Kachhi Ghodi dance, puppet shows, Bahurupiya acts, and Shehnai music, delighting visitors.
