FIFTEEN STATIONS OF EASTERN RAILWAY’S ASANSOL DIVISION TO BE MODERNISED UNDER AMRIT BHARAT STATION SCHEME

To provide world class facilities and amenities to the passengers and railway  users, fifteen (15) stations under Eastern Railway’s Asansol Division will be  redeveloped and  modernised under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

The stations under this scheme includes Andal, Sitarampur, Pandebeswar, Siuri, Panagarh Stations in West Bengal, Simultala Station in Bihar and   Deoghar, Madhupur, Basukinath, Dumka, Shankarpur, Jamtara,  Vidyasagar, Kumardhubi, and Giridih Stations in Jharkhand.

Mr. Permanand Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Asansol Division said that work for preparing detail project  project report of these 15 railway stations  is going on at present and will be send to head quarters once finalized.

The Project aims at bringing all facilities under one roof at the stations to envisage multi-modal integration.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme denotes development of station on a continuous basis to further improve the amenities at the station such as improvement of accessibility to stations, circulation areas, waiting halls,   toilets, lift/escalators, cleanliness, free Wi-Fi facilities, Kiosk/stalls for selling local products through schemes like “One Station One Product”   better passenger information system, Executive Lounges, Banquet Halls, Landscaping keeping in view the necessity at station.

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme also includes improvement of station buildings, amenities for Divyangans, integration of the stations with both sides of the city, sustainable and environment friendly solution, provision of ballast less track, Roof Plazas as per requirement.
