HOTEL : FIRST GINGER HOTEL IN WEST BENGAL WITH 55 KEYS OPENED IN RAJBANDH OF INDUSTRIAL CITY OF DURGAPUR

DURGAPUR, 27 JUNE 2024:

The first Ginger Hotel in the state of West Bengal has opened in Rajbandh, in the industrial city of Durgapur. Few more Ginger Hotels are also in the pipeline in Newtown –  including in Rajarhat ( near Tata Medical Centre ), Shristi Nagar, Ningha, Andal Airport  etc.

Eastern  and North- Eastern India   has the  potential growth for the Ginger Hotels and seven out of the upcoming  twenty new hotels are coming up in these regions.

“In line with IHCL’s steadfast commitment to East India, Ginger Durgapur, Rajbandh opened in January 2024. Nestled in the heart of Rajbandh, the 55-room hotel is strategically positioned for convenience, a short drive from the airport and key commercial centers. It features Qmin, the signature all-day diner presenting a delightful array of global and local favorites, a welcoming bar, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre,” said Smt. Deepika Rao Thallapalli, Executive Vice President, New Businesses, Hotel Openings and Corporate Communications.

“ The five spacious banquet spaces are perfect for meetings and social events. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 18 Ginger hotels across Agartala, Asansol, Dibrugarh, Gangtok, Guwahati, Jamshedpur, Jorhat, Bhubaneshwar, Durgapur, Patna, Kolkata, Kalinganagar, Paradip in East and  North East India including 7 under development,” she added.

The Hotel has been set up eyeing the business sector visitors to  of this vast industrial region, which also have good connectivity, railways, highways and airport  and also have hospitals and educational institutions.

Looking Ahead  :

The opening of 371 keys Ginger Mumbai Airport marks the transition of the brands journey with large format hotels. With India’s economic growth and rapidly expanding infrastructure, there exists a huge opportunity in the mid-scale segment. Having pioneered the segment in India, IHCL is set to launch similar large format hotels at Bengaluru airport with 325 keys and Goa airport with 300 keys, further revolutionising the category.

Ginger will continue to proliferate its presence within metro markets and expand to newer Tier II & Tier III markets in line with the rising share of these markets in the sector’s overall room supply.
