KOLKATA, 22 JULY 2023:

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that the preliminary visitor arrivals for June were 2.75 million, with a daily average of about 92,000 visitors. Cumulatively, about 13 million arrivals were recorded in the first half of 2023.

The HKTB expects Hong Kong’s tourism will continue to recover steadily in the second half of the year. However, the pace of recovery will be affected by various challenges, such as air capacity, the global economy, currency exchange rates, etc.

The HKTB will continue to enhance the promotions in various source markets by deepening the “Hello Hong Kong” campaign and staging mega events such as the “Hong Kong Cyclothon”, “Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival”, “Hong Kong WinterFest”, “Hong Kong New Year Countdown Celebrations”. The HKTB will also support the city’s international events, to attract visitors to Hong Kong and enrich their experiences in the city.

(Note: Because of rounding, the total may differ from the sum of the individual figures. *Includes figures from long-haul, short-haul, and new markets, as well as the Macao SAR. (Full details of June 2023 visitor arrivals will be released on 31 July.)
