The face of Rajasthan tourism, culture and information department in Kolkata, Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, the most popular officer in charge and assistant director has been suspended resulting in mass protests by the migrant Marwari population and organizations in the City of Joy seeking the cancellation of the order and his reinstatement.
The Paschim Banga Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan general secretary, Mr. Kishan Kila, Mr. Basanth Sethia, member of advisory committee has already send a letter to Mr. Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan seeking his suspension withdrawal and reinstatement.
“ Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo has acted as a bridge between the Rajasthan state government and the migrant Marwari population here since joining here and his suspension order has been a huge setback for us and is really a shocking news . During the Covid -19 outbreak and after that also he has worked tirelessly in providing safe passage and seamless returning back from trouble torn Manipur to 120 students back to Rajasthan,”said Mr. Kishan Kila.
Mr. Basanth Sethia said that about ten years the office of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) was closed and since joining the Kolkata office, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo has revived the tourism business and few years ago Rajasthan Tourism has received record business from West Bengal through Kolkata office.
Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo not only participates in all cultural programme and events and tourism events but also has been very much popular amongst the Bengali speaking tourists for his advice and support, he used to support from booking to even during the tour if the tourists had faced any problem, he added.
It will be a huge setback for the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) in Kolkata after his suspension order said the migrant Marwari community of Kolkata. During the recent visits of CM of Rajasthan in Kolkata and Ranchi and education minister’s Kolkata tour he has played a key role.
Not only he has revived the tourism business of Rajasthan but has also redeveloped the RTDC office in Kolkata and regularly various cultural and tourim events takes place. He had also hold the additional charge of Rajasthali, the Rajasthan handicrafts outlet in Dhakshinapan Shopping Complex in Dhakuria.
The Marwari Yuva Manch, Kolkata Chapter has also urged the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma and deputy chief minister and tourism minister Diya Kumari to withdraw his suspension order and reinstate an active and popular officer like Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo at Kolkata office of RTDC.
“ With the bookings going on for the upcoming Puja holidays and peak tourism season at this juncture the suspension of Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo will be a great loss for Rajasthan Tourism Department in the state,” said Marwari Yuva Manch Kolkata chapter in a press release.
Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo used to work tirelessly, soft spoken, witty , always smiling and was very much popular due to his deep knowledge of Rajasthani culture and literature and was called as guest speaker in most of the Marwari and Rajasthan cultural events and shows.
There has been very much positive review by the Bengali tourists about Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo after they have returned back from Rajasthan tour. A number of eminent persons have been felicitated by the office at the Sujas books and other materials have been gifted during his tenure .
