Odhni Dam, located in Banka district, is a picturesque site where Bihar Tourism has introduced water sports facilities that are being enjoyed by visitors daily. It offers a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of both the river and the dam. Odhni Dam now features motorboats, speed boats, jet skiing, and other adventure water sports. From a tourism perspective, it is a prime destination, equipped with food and beverage outlets and parking facilities. As a result, Odhni Dam has emerged as a key tourist spot in the state, drawing hundreds of visitors daily with family and friends.
Tourism facilities at the site are now being further enhanced. Tourists visiting Odhni Dam will soon enjoy additional and improved amenities. The Tourism Department has completed the construction of a fully-equipped cafeteria, and development work continues on other attractions including a theme park and parking facilities.
The cafeteria at Odhni Dam has been constructed at a total cost of ₹3.45 crore. The prefab cafeteria and site development work are already completed. The leasing process for the cafeteria will be finalized within this month, after which tourists will have access to better food services.
In addition, projects worth ₹7.49 crore are being executed, including the development of a theme park, its boundary wall, a connecting bridge, an open-air theatre, gazebos, parking areas, fencing, boundary walls for parking, a multipurpose block, a Navagraha-themed children’s park, fountains, podiums, pedestals, landscaping, signage, pathways, and more. All these projects will be completed soon.
Once finished, visitors will enjoy significantly upgraded and specialized tourism facilities. It’s worth mentioning that several tourism amenities have also been developed at the nearby Mandar Parvat (Mandar Hill) in Banka. A state-of-the-art ropeway has been made available for access to this mythologically significant hill, along with various other facilities, which have led to a steady increase in tourist footfall.
