Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Regional Tourism Conclave held in Rewa marks a new dawn for tourism in the state. Investment proposals worth more than ₹3,000 crore were received from major investors for Rewa and Shahdol divisions, underlining the immense potential for tourism development in these regions. Terming the moment as historic, Dr. Yadav emphasized that this would open new avenues for economic prosperity and employment.
Speaking at the inaugural event of the two-day conclave in Rewa, the Chief Minister highlighted the enthusiasm of investors and lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the formal commencement. The conclave will continue on July 27 as well.
The Chief Minister said development holds meaning only when it is rooted in our culture and heritage. “We are advancing in mission mode from heritage to development,” he noted. “The Vindhya region has always been the pride of Madhya Pradesh. We will restore the grandeur of Vindhyachal by preserving its heritage sites.” Describing the region as a potential ideal tourist destination, Dr. Yadav spoke of its linguistic sweetness, cultural richness, dense forests, and green cover.
The state government is offering industrial-level facilities to the tourism sector, and investors are encouraged to take full advantage of the investor-friendly tourism policy. “The government will provide a subsidy of ₹30 crore on tourist hotels, motels or resorts with an investment of ₹100 crore. Similarly, for wellness centers under health tourism, a subsidy of up to ₹4 crore will be granted,” he said.
The CM added that employment-based industries would receive direct benefits: ₹5,000 per month for male workers and ₹6,000 for female workers for ten years. “The government will extend all possible support to investors in establishing industries,” he assured.
He further said, “Madhya Pradesh is the heart of India, and Vindhyachal is close to everyone’s heart. The soil here has produced leaders for the nation. The white tigers roam freely in these forests. The region is rich in minerals and iron ore. Rewa and Singrauli, the energy hubs of India, are in this region. Even Delhi’s metro runs on the electricity generated here.” He added that with the opening of Rewa Airport, connectivity has greatly improved.
Vindhya, he said, nourishes the state culturally and spiritually. The Tourism Conclave, coming soon after the Industrial Conclave, signals a clear intent to boost the region’s tourism profile.
Dr. Yadav described Vindhya as a region endowed with natural beauty, cultural heritage, and unique natural phenomena. With Rewa Airport operational, the region is now well connected. He assured that all possibilities will be explored for the multidimensional development of this heritage-rich region.
The region has vibrant forests and stunning natural beauty, he said, and aligns with the philosophy of VasudhaivaKutumbakam. Alongside religious tourism, the area holds vast potential for health tourism as well.
The CM invited investors to come forward and invest with confidence, especially in the Vindhya region. “We will provide all necessary facilities and support,” he said.
