Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh, has issued firm directives to departmental officials, emphasizing that all pending tourism projects across the state must be completed within the stipulated timelines, without delay. Expressing strong displeasure over the laxity shown by contractors and project execution agencies, he instructed officials to initiate strict action against those responsible for delays. “Implementation of tourism projects and schemes must reflect visible progress on the ground,” he asserted.

The Minister was chairing a comprehensive review meeting at Uttar Pradesh Tourism Directorate in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, where he assessed the progress of various ongoing schemes and developmental works under the department. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Tourism, Culture & Religious Affairs Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Special Secretary Tourism Ms. Isha Priya, Tourism Advisor JP Singh, and other senior tourism officials.

During the review, Jaiveer Singh reiterated the state government’s commitment to elevating religious tourism through world-class infrastructure and amenities. He stated that improving visitor experience at spiritual destinations is a key priority and warned that no negligence would be tolerated. Officials were instructed to identify and take strict action against contractors and architects showing indifference or delays in project execution.

The Minister also conducted a virtual inspection of several sites including Somnath Shiv Temple in Chitrakoot, construction works along the Yamuna River in Madanpur (Firozabad), ongoing developments in Gonda, the under-construction State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) in Gorakhpur, the Buddha Vihara Vipassana Centre in Jhansi, and building works in Gokul Nagar Panchayat, Mathura. Local stakeholders, including temple priests and monks from the Vipassana Centre, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing progress during their interaction with the Minister.

Singh further instructed officials to streamline the tendering process and ensure project completion strictly within deadlines. He emphasized the need to focus on developing lesser-known tourist destinations and strengthening the potential of eco-tourism across the state. He also underlined that sites with the capacity to attract domestic and international tourists should be developed on a priority basis in every district.

Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meshram reviewed the department’s ongoing schemes and directed all responsible agencies to maintain high standards of execution. He stressed the importance of quality in every aspect of construction, whether it is tiles, handles, fixtures, cafeterias, benches for visitors, sanitation facilities, landscaping, or signage. He reiterated that all works must be completed within the defined timelines with no compromise on standards.
