The Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, held a review meeting aligned with the vision of propelling Uttar Pradesh towards becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2027.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Tourism and Culture, government of Uttar Pradesh and attended by Mr. Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, government of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Eesha Priya, Special Secretary, Department of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh; and Mr. Prakhar Misra, Director, UP Tourism.
The meeting highlighted ongoing developments and outlined strategic directions to further position Uttar Pradesh as a leading international travel destination.

Uttar Pradesh boasts a plethora of top tourism destinations, ranging from historical and religious sites to natural wonders. Key highlights include the Taj Mahal in Agra, the spiritual city of Varanasi, and the sacred birthplace of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. Other significant places include Mathura-Vrindavan (associated with Lord Krishna), Prayagraj (historical city with sacred sites), and Kushinagar (a Buddhist pilgrimage site).

Top Tourism Destinations of Uttar Pradesh :
- Agra:
Famous for the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, as well as Agra Fort, another historical complex.
- Varanasi:
One of the holiest cities in Hinduism, known for its ghats along the Ganges River and spiritual atmosphere.
- Ayodhya:
Believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama, it features numerous temples and is a major Hindu pilgrimage site.
- Mathura-Vrindavan:
These twin cities are deeply connected to the legends of Lord Krishna and feature temples like Banke Bihari and Prem Mandir.
- Lucknow:
The capital city, known for its rich history, culture, and Mughal architecture, including Bara Imambara.
- Kushinagar:
An important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddha is believed to have attained Mahaparinirvana.
- Prayagraj:
A historical city with sacred sites and a confluence of three rivers, also known as Triveni Sangam.
