
- Swiss cottages equipped with five-star hotel facilities have become the main attraction among tourists. The rental tariff is ₹3,000 per night for domestic tourists and ₹5,000 per night for foreign tourists.
- Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation has also made special arrangements to take tourists from Patna to tour the Sonepur Fair. Tour packages are available starting from just ₹900.

The world-famous Harihar Kshetra Sonepur Fair is once again the center of attraction for tourists and devotees from India and abroad. Known as Asia’s largest cattle fair, the Tourism Department has made extensive arrangements to ensure convenience and safety for visiting tourists. The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation has developed a Tourist Village where luxury Mini Darbari and Rajwadi tents located inside the fair premises are drawing a lot of attention. Tourists from various parts of the country, including Japan, have stayed here and enjoyed the fairgrounds.

Special tour packages have also been arranged to facilitate tourists visiting the Sonepur Fair. These packages include all facilities—from accommodation in Patna to transportation to the fair, sightseeing, and meals.

Luxury Mini Darbari and Rajwadi Tents in Swiss Cottages:
Modern luxury Swiss cottages have been constructed near the fairground in the Tourist Village for domestic and foreign tourists. These tents are built in two categories. Due to their grandeur, they have been named Mini Darbari and Rajwadi. Several royal-style tents have been set up in Sonepur. These tents offer all five-star hotel amenities.
The rental tariffs are fixed differently for domestic and international visitors:
- ₹3,000 per night for domestic tourists
- ₹5,000 per night for foreign tourists
These fully air-conditioned luxury tents are equipped with attached bathrooms, 24-hour electricity and water supply, meals, and complete security arrangements.

Luxury Vehicle Facility Available for Tourists
Bihar Tourism Development Corporation has arranged special luxury transportation from Patna to the Sonepur Fair. These luxury vehicles operate from Veer Chand Patel Path in Patna and the nearby Sikh Heritage Guru Nanak Bhavan located on Daroga Rai Path.
Daily guided tours to the Sonepur Fair are conducted from Kautilya Vihar on Daroga Rai Path between 12 PM and 7 PM.
The fare per person is as follows:
- AC Bus & Decker Bus: ₹900
- Traveller AC: ₹950
- Innova: ₹1,100
- Winger: ₹900
- Etios: ₹1,300

Special Tour Package for Couples at Just ₹6,000
This year, a special tour package has been introduced for couples. For ₹6,000 per couple, the package includes:
- Hotel stay
- Etios AC vehicle
- Experienced tourist guide
- Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner
The ancient Harihar Kshetra Sonepur Fair is held every year at the sacred confluence of the Ganga and Gandak rivers, starting from Kartik Purnima. For a month from Kartik Purnima, millions of devotees take a holy dip at the confluence and visit Asia’s largest cattle fair.
