Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, Jaiveer Singh, chaired the meeting of the Tourism Advisory Committee constituted for the financial year 2024–25 at the Tourism Directorate in Lucknow. During the meeting, he emphasized that all the suggestions and guidance provided by the MLAs from various constituencies of Uttar Pradesh would be implemented sincerely on the ground to further enrich the tourism landscape of the state. He also requested that the legislators submit proposals related to ancient, religious, and natural tourism sites from their respective regions so that Uttar Pradesh may continue progressing as a leading tourism hub. He highlighted that, under the able leadership of the Chief Minister and with the inspiration of the Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh currently holds the first position in domestic tourism in India.

The meeting saw the presence and active participation of MLAs Shri Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha (Agra), Shri Shyam Lal Rahi (Siddharthnagar), Mr. Manish Kumar alias Mantu (Kushinagar), Smt. The legislators expressed appreciation for the visible tourism initiatives across the state from Kushinagar to Saharanpur, and noted it as a significant achievement of the department. They emphasized that the development of infrastructure and the enhancement of religious, historical, and cultural sites have greatly increased religious and spiritual tourism. This growth has led to improved earnings for local businesses and employment opportunities for local residents.

They also acknowledged that preparations for Mahakumbh 2025, the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, and the increasing number of pilgrims at Kashi Vishwanath have elevated Uttar Pradesh’s stature on the global spiritual tourism map.

MLAs Neelima Katiyar, Umar Ali Khan, and Shri Ved Prakash Gupta proposed specific destinations in their regions for tourism development. The Legislators also advocated for boosting eco-tourism, including water-based tourism, nature tourism, wildlife sanctuaries, bird reserves, and the conservation of Bundelkhand’s natural forest wealth and heritage trees. They also recommended focused development of naturopathy-based wellness centres. Furthermore, suggestions were made to enhance the vision of candidates selected under the CM Fellowship Programme, conduct research on unexplored religious sites, involve local communities, and promote storytelling through local narrators.

On this occasion, the Tourism Minister distributed tablets and certificates to the winners of the CM Research Fellowship competition. A presentation was also made on the Tourism Policy 2022, focusing on investment promotion and incentives being offered to tourism enterprises.
