Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathi confirmed that the Egyptian tourism product is distinguished by “a unique and rich social experience for the tourist.”
He noted that all Egyptian promotional campaigns focus on this direction.
The minister’s remarks came during a specialized workshop held at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), with representatives from the “Trip Advisor” platform, which is one of the largest global electronic platforms specializing in travel and tourism.
The workshop took place in light of the existing partnership between the ministry and the platform, and was attended by representatives of the platform and the private tourism sector.
Fathi stressed that tourism in Egypt is different from many tourist destinations worldwide with which the Egyptian tourism market is compared.
He pointed out that those destinations rely solely on sightseeing and shopping, while the Egyptian destination offers a unique tourism experience due to its various tourist sites and diverse activities.
The minister added that the Ministry is working on two main axes, focusing on creating a new tourism product.
He pointed out that Egypt possesses the ingredients to offer new and diverse tourism products for visitors.
He explained that the ministry is working to formulate a long-term vision and build on Egypt’s existing assets, such as beach tourism, the Holy Family journey route, cultural tourism, spiritual and religious tourism, and other tourism products, all of which aim to ensure tourists return to visit Egypt again.
