In order to avoid rush, ensure hassle-free booking, facilitate passengers and redistribute peak traffic during the upcoming festival season, Eastern Railway has formulated an experimental scheme named Round Trip Package for Festival Rush on discounted fare. The scheme will be applicable to those passengers who choose to book both onward and return journeys for the same set of passengers during the prescribed period.
Under this scheme, a rebate of 20% shall be granted on the base fare of the return journey when both onward and return tickets are booked together. Passenger details of the return journey will remain the same as those of the onward journey. Booking under this scheme commenced from 14th August 2025 for onward journeys falling between 13th October & 26th October 2025. The return journey tickets may subsequently be booked by using the connecting journey feature for train start dates between 17th November and 1st December 2025. The Advance Reservation Period (ARP) will not be applicable for return journey bookings.
This scheme shall be valid only on confirmed tickets in both directions and shall be permissible only in the same class and same origin–destination pair for onward and return journeys. Tickets booked under this scheme will be non-refundable and no modification will be allowed once the booking is made. It will be applicable to all classes and in all trains including special trains (Trains on Demand) except trains having the Flexi-fare system.
Further, no discount, Rail Travel Coupons, voucher-based bookings, passes or PTOs will be admissible during the return journey under this scheme. Both onward and return journey tickets must be booked through the same mode, either internet (online booking) or counter booking at reservation offices. No additional fare collection will be made if any difference arises during charting for these PNRs.
Eastern Railway’s Round Trip Package Scheme is a step forward towards providing relief to passengers during the festival rush, ensuring affordable fares, smoother booking experience and better distribution of traffic in both directions including special trains.
